well, the monsters don't actually live thousands of years to reach that power level.
i think it was said that after reaching 100.000 year status, they can live 1000 years to decide to become human and cultivate the human way or try to ascend in vain, since monsters can't become gods.
as for the reason for that, i got spoilered in the manga of the third installment.
there was once a monster god, some kind of evil dragon, that nerly destroid the gods realm. and so the gods decided that no monster is allowed to become a god anymore. and now all monsters have to become humans and live in human society to ascend.

Pretty much SL1 it's a tale of revenge of a father and son against an evil cult.

It is ending in like between 3 to 5 (if you count the special length one) episodes.

Soul Land 2 is a sequel but it is not... Setting-wise, It's 10.000 years in the future. Some characters have a direct connection with the ones of this series and some appear again. Plot-wise... instead of a tale of father and son wanting revenge, everyone wants revenge against others... (Yes... the author has little imagination on that regard...)

honestly they cannot finish book one in 2 episodes which is what should be left considering this series is supposed to end on April 29th . I know their is a rumor of a supposed movie. I am wondering if the last 2 episodes are going to be extended episodes to finish book one before book 2 series starts. If they try to cram all that is left into 2 normal length episodes its going to be messy

Well this season is supposed to end on april29th and the next series which is book 2 of the novel is supposed to start shortly after. However there is far too much to finish is 2 episodes so the rumors about a movie must be true to finish the first book unless they rush the whole ending of book 1 in 2 episodes.

Okay so will we still see Tang san in book 2 and like maybe his children?

Well not in the way people think because there are reasons why he won't be in book 2 and as far as I'll go is say it takes place 10k years in the future from the events of book 1 and the main character is intimately linked to Tang San family.
